No Pens Day!
This week, we have enjoyed a day with a difference! To support our work on Oracy, we had a 'No Pens Day' - this meant we were not allowed to use pens or technology for a WHOLE day! We played games and completed lots of different activities, to further develop our oracy skills.
We LOVED it!
Have a look at some of the things we got up to below!
Show Racism the Red Card!
As part of our PSHE work, we have had a visit from the charity 'Show Racism the Red Card'. We took part in a key stage assembly, then had the chance to complete a workshop with one of the team.
We learnt lots about acceptance, tolerance and making the right choices - it was a great morning!
Year 4 Writing
Throughout the year, we have been learning how to write in a range of different genres, using a variety of texts as the stimulus for our writing. Here are just a few...
Here is some of the fantastic writing we have produced as part of each writing unit. We hope you enjoy reading our work!
We have already had a busy half term in Year 4, with lots of experiences and amazing work to share! Throughout Autumn 1, we are learning all about the Anglo Saxons, investigating Sound, and learning to swim and play Tag Rugby, to name just a few of our topics!
European Day of Languages
On Friday 26th September, we celebrated European Day of Languages across the school. Here in Year 4, we learnt how to play Bocce Ball (an Italian version of bowls), as well as finding out about how to say hello in different languages! Some of us completed passports linked to languages (Team 11), whilst others learnt a Portugese song and sign language. The children had a great day learning about something new! Take a look at some of our photographs and work below!
Manchester Youth Zone Visit
Team 10 and Team 11 also spent their morning at Manchester Youth Zone, on Wednesday 1st October. The children got a chance to play dodgeball, test their basketball skills, have a go at badmington and even rock climb! Everyone in Year 4 had an amazing time sampling what the Youth Zone has to offer children in our local area!
